Training Developer

Contract – 6 Months

Location: Cumbria (Workington and other local sites)

On-site: 5 days per week (no hybrid working)

IR35: In Scope

Rate: £25.49 per hour (Umbrella)


We are currently looking for experienced Training Developers to join a high-performing team delivering critical training solutions within a regulated, safety-focused environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while working across multiple business areas.


The Role

As a Training Developer, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of training material development, following a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT). You will work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design and deliver effective, compliant learning solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse training needs and design effective learning solutions
  • Develop engaging training materials in line with SAT principles
  • Deliver and support training sessions where required
  • Conduct pilot courses and gather feedback for improvement
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and implement enhancements
  • Collaborate with SMEs to validate and refine content
  • Support audits, reviews, and compliance activities
  • Coach stakeholders on the use and delivery of training materials
  • Contribute to peer reviews and continuous improvement initiatives


About You

You will be a proactive and confident Training Developer with strong communication skills and experience working in structured or regulated environments.


Essential experience and skills:

  • Proven background in training design and content development
  • Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies (ideally SAT)
  • Experience working in regulated, compliance-driven, or safety-critical environments
  • Confident using digital tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage your workload independently and meet deadlines


Additional Requirements

  • Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade A–C / 4–9)
  • Ability to provide qualification certificates at interview
