Oracle DBS-SQL Developer – Nationwide – Hybrid– Contract 37.5 hours per week – £545 - £595 per day – BPSS

Our client is a well-established consultancy delivering complex, large-scale public sector programmes. They're expanding their team on a major multi-supplier project and need an experienced developer who can make an immediate impact.


Working within a skilled development and test team, you'll support mission-critical systems using Oracle databases on Amazon Public Cloud.


Essential requirements include strong PL/SQL expertise, particularly in developing and maintaining complex stored procedures, alongside solid Liquibase experience. Experience working on large-scale programmes and strong troubleshooting skills within a multi-supplier environment would be highly beneficial.

Working Patterns and location – Hybrid – 1-2 days on site per week


The Key Responsibilities of a Oracle DB/SQL Developer:


• Design, develop, and maintain complex PL/SQL stored procedures and database objects

• Manage database deployments and version control processes using Liquibase.

• Support and administer Oracle RDBMS environments hosted on Amazon Public Cloud (IaaS)

• Collaborate closely with development and testing teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database-related issues within a skilled technical team.

• Contribute to the successful delivery of large-scale, multi-supplier development programmes.

• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support database solutions and best practices.


Below is a list of Key Skills required for a Oracle DB/SQL Developer, however you will not be expected to have everything:


• Strong commercial experience in Oracle PL/SQL development.

• Demonstrable expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining complex stored procedures.

• Proven hands-on experience using Liquibase for database version control and change management.

• Experience supporting and administering Oracle RDBMS environments hosted on Amazon Public Cloud (IaaS).

• Previous involvement in large-scale, complex programmes involving multiple suppliers and stakeholders.

• Excellent troubleshooting, problem analysis, and issue-resolution skills within technical environments.

• Strong team collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across development and testing functions.


The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:


• Experience using JIRA and Confluence in a development environment.

• Previous experience working on Public Sector programmes.

• Comfortable using a Linux-based development desktop environment.
