DevOps Engineer

Overview

Insight Global is partnering exclusively with a leading Tier 1 bank to source a Mid-Level Azure DevOps Engineer. Our client is a globally recognised financial institution currently undergoing a significant cloud transformation programme, encompassing multiple workstreams across a broad Azure estate.

This is a hands-on engineering role for a confident practitioner who can build, support, and operate automation and cloud infrastructure at scale. The successful candidate will contribute meaningfully to complex solutions across the programme, and begin to take ownership of design decisions within their workstreams.

The applicant must have the below:

• 7–10 years of hands-on infrastructure and cloud engineering experience
• Solid, practical experience across the Azure platform including networking, policy, DevOps tooling, and cloud services
• Experience building and operating complex cloud solutions in enterprise environments, not just greenfield or small-scale deployments
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline build and maintenance
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and/or Packer in Azure environments
• Experience with Azure policy management and an awareness of regulatory compliance requirements
• Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) within Azure, including RBAC and Entra ID
• Experience with Azure Data services – Databricks, Data Factory, and/or Azure Synapse
• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python
• Source control experience with Git
• Good understanding of Azure networking including vNets, NSGs, and zone-based data flows
• Beginning to contribute to architectural decisions, with an appetite to grow into a more senior design-led role

It would be a plus if the applicant had the following:

• Experience within financial services or regulated environments
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments (on-premise alongside Azure)
• Configuration management tools: DSC or Ansible
• Experience establishing a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for infrastructure automation
• Exposure to Agile/SAFe delivery methodologies within large-scale transformation programmes
