Job Description
Fabric Technician / Maintenance Respond to breakdown maintenance requests within agreed SLA times Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works on electrical systems Diagnose and repair faults across power distribution, UPS, CPS, and cooling systems Perform repairs and maintenance on modular UPS systems Test and diagnose power quality issues, including harmonic distortion using on-site analysers. Provide emergency response, standby cover, and participate in a call-out rota Escalate critical or high-risk issues to the Technical Services Manager Respond effectively to work interruptions, outages, and emergencies in line with operational SLAs. Ensure all maintenance records, compliance logs, and documentation are accurately maintained Advise Facilities Management teams on changes or risks within critical environments. Apply a risk-based maintenance approach when working on plant and infrastructure. Support site audits and ensure compliance with all statutory and safety requirements Undertake site surveys and produce technical reports, quotes, and recommendations Essential Skills & Experience18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (essential) Proven experience working in data centres or critical environments Strong technical knowledge of: Power distribution systems UPS / CPS systems Cooling and critical HVAC infrastructure Experience diagnosing power quality issues and electrical faults Ability to work under pressure in high-availability environments Strong understanding of SLA-driven maintenance and response times Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills Full UK driving licence (if mobile) What We're Looking ForA proactive, safety-first engineer with strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexible approach to working hours, including out-of-hours and overtime Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders What's on OfferCompetitive salary and overtime opportunities Call-out allowance Ongoing training and development Opportunity to work in high-profile, mission-critical environments Career progression within a leading facilities management environment
