The Opportunity

As a Full Stack Software Engineer with strong React expertise, youll play a key role in building the web platforms that power how small businesses connect with customers, sell, and grow. Your work will directly support EDFs wider mission as we continue our journey towards An Electric Britain .

Youll join us on a salary starting of 63,000 per annum , with a hybrid setup across #London #Hove #Exeter . You can work from home, with the option to collaborate in person monthly or more often if you prefer.

This is a React-heavy role (7080%) , where youll design and build high-quality, scalable front-end applications using TypeScript and modern frameworks. Alongside this, youll contribute across the stack integrating APIs, working with AWS, improving CI/CD pipelines, and using AI tools to enhance how we build and deliver software.

Who You Are

Youre a React-focused Full Stack Engineer who cares about performance, clean code, and delivering real value to users. Youre confident owning front-end development, while still contributing across backend and cloud when needed. Are you experienced in

• Building production-grade React applications with strong TypeScript skills
• Creating scalable, reusable front-end architectures (e.g. component libraries, micro frontends)
• Managing state, async data flows, and complex UI behaviour in modern React apps
• Integrating front ends with REST or GraphQL APIs
• Developing backend services with Node.js or Python
• Deploying and running applications on AWS (cloud-native / event-driven environments)
• Writing automated tests (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
• Setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release processes
• Applying monitoring and observability to improve reliability and performance

What Youll Be Doing

• Building React-based web applications and micro frontends using TypeScript
• Designing and integrating full-stack solutions across APIs, backend and cloud
• Improving performance, accessibility and reliability of user-facing applications
• Using AI tools to enhance development, testing and delivery
• Collaborating in Agile teams to deliver features end-to-end
