Senior Frontend Engineer (Contract)
Location: West London / Hybrid
Contract: Initial 6 Months (Highly Likely Extension)
Day Rate: £350/day Outside
We're partnering with a globally recognised technology and streaming organisation seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension based on project demand and performance.
This is an opportunity to work on large-scale consumer platforms serving millions of users across international markets, helping to deliver seamless customer journeys across subscription, commerce and account management products.
The Role
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, building and optimising modern web applications within a fast-paced Agile environment. You'll work closely with product, design and engineering teams to deliver scalable, resilient and high-performing customer-facing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop modern web applications using React, TypeScript and Next.js
- Build scalable, resilient and maintainable frontend solutions
- Contribute to technical design and architecture discussions
- Deliver high-quality code through automated testing and CI/CD practices
- Collaborate within a cross-functional Agile team
- Drive improvements in performance, accessibility, security and user experience
- Champion engineering best practices and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong commercial experience with React, TypeScript and Next.js
- Proven experience developing production-scale frontend applications
- Strong Node.js and GraphQL experience
- Experience with Playwright and automated testing strategies
- Solid understanding of TDD, CI/CD and modern software engineering practices
- Experience optimising web applications for performance, accessibility and resilience
- Ability to work effectively within collaborative Agile teams
Desirable
- Experience within high-traffic digital, streaming, subscription or eCommerce environments
- Exposure to large-scale consumer-facing platforms
- Experience contributing to technical direction and mentoring other engineers
