Senior AI Platform Engineer
Remote (UK)
£80,000 - £90,000 + benefits
I’m currently working with a growing organisation investing heavily into AI, automation and intelligent systems, looking to hire a Senior AI Platform Engineer to help support and scale production AI environments.
This role sits between Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure and modern AI systems. You’ll be responsible for maintaining the operational health, reliability and performance of AI applications running in production across cloud-hosted environments.
The business is building AI-powered systems leveraging LLMs, orchestration layers, retrieval pipelines and intelligent automation workflows, so this would suit someone who enjoys solving complex operational and engineering challenges within modern distributed systems.
This is not a research-focused AI role. The focus here is production engineering, operational reliability and scalable infrastructure supporting real-world AI applications.
Key responsibilities:
• Monitoring and supporting production AI systems and cloud infrastructure
• Managing deployments, observability, alerting and incident response
• Supporting AI and LLM-based workflows running in production
• Investigating system failures, performance bottlenecks and operational issues
• Working closely with engineering and AI teams on platform improvements
• Supporting model deployments, operational tooling and quality monitoring
• Contributing to automation, documentation and engineering best practice
What they're looking for:
• Experience supporting production cloud or software systems
• Strong AWS and infrastructure engineering experience
• Experience with Python and automation tooling
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging and observability platforms
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Experience working with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines or distributed systems
• Exposure to AI, MLOps or LLM-based systems would be beneficial
Nice to have:
• Experience with RAG pipelines or orchestration frameworks
• Exposure to Databricks, MLflow or AI observability tooling
• Experience supporting AI or data-intensive applications in production environments
