Mechanical Design Engineer
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team developing innovative, high-precision products. This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically challenging projects, contributing across the full product development lifecycle from concept through to production.
The Role
You will be responsible for the detailed mechanical design of precision-engineered components and assemblies, working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions. The role offers involvement in design analysis, testing, and product validation within a collaborative engineering environment.
Required Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in mechanical design engineering
- Strong CAD experience for detailed mechanical design and manufacturing documentation
- Experience using FEA and/or hand calculations to support engineering decisions
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and ANSYS is preferred
- Strong Design for Manufacture (DFM) knowledge, particularly relating to precision metal components, CNC machining, and material selection
- Proven experience producing manufacturing-ready drawings and tolerancing to ISO BS 8888 and GD&T standards
- Experience working with opto-mechanical or high-precision mechanical systems
