The opportunity:
We are working with a leading client-side consultancy seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the delivery of complex, high-profile projects across the built environment.
This role sits within a client representative environment, offering direct exposure to senior stakeholders and genuine involvement in project decision-making. You will report into a senior leader/ Project Director and take ownership of day-to-day delivery across multi-stakeholder schemes.
The role:
You will play a key role in driving project delivery, coordinating consultants and contractors, and maintaining programme and commercial control across the lifecycle.
This is a hands-on position with responsibility for:
- Managing project programmes, milestones, and dependencies
- Coordinating consultants and subcontractors
- Maintaining governance structures and reporting frameworks
- Supporting client engagement and strategic decision-making
- Overseeing and developing junior team members
Key responsibilities:
Project delivery
- Lead coordination of consultants and subcontractors
- Ensure alignment between client objectives and project outputs
- Manage programme, risks, and deliverables
- Review outputs prior to client issue
Programme & commercial
- Monitor programme performance and key milestones
- Track project cashflow and support invoice processes
- Align delivery progress with commercial position
Governance & reporting
- Maintain risk registers, action trackers, and decision logs
- Lead weekly and monthly reporting cycles
- Ensure clear communication and audit trails
Team leadership
- Manage and mentor project managers
- Allocate workload and review outputs
- Support development of junior staff
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key day-to-day client contact
- Support meetings, reporting, and decision processes
- Maintain clear and professional stakeholder communication
About you:
- 5+ years’ experience in project management
- Background in real estate, development, engineering, or infrastructure
- Strong programme management across full project lifecycle
- Experience managing consultants and supply chain
- Commercial awareness (cashflow, invoicing, reporting)
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
- JCT contract experience (essential)
- NEC experience (preferred)
- FIDIC awareness (beneficial)
- Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline
