Hiring: Senior AWS EKS Platform Engineer
Location: London or Belfast (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
We are looking for an experienced AWS EKS Platform Engineer to join a large-scale enterprise platform team.
This is a platform engineering role focused on building, managing, and operating enterprise-scale Amazon EKS clusters. The successful candidate will help deliver Kubernetes as a Service (KaaS) to internal application teams and will be responsible for the full EKS cluster lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage enterprise-scale Amazon EKS clusters
- Design and operate Kubernetes platforms used by multiple internal teams
- Own EKS cluster provisioning, upgrades, scaling, and lifecycle management
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Design and support AWS infrastructure including VPC, IAM, networking, EBS, and EFS
- Implement Kubernetes security controls and CIS best practices
- Support platform reliability, scalability, and operational excellence
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience building Amazon EKS clusters from scratch
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes cluster architecture
- Experience managing enterprise-scale Kubernetes environments
- Strong AWS infrastructure experience including VPC, IAM, networking, EBS, and EFS
- Extensive Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience
- Experience with EKS cluster provisioning and lifecycle management
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes networking and storage
- Experience implementing Kubernetes security best practices and CIS benchmarks

Important
We are not looking for candidates who only deploy applications to existing EKS clusters.
We are specifically seeking engineers who have built, managed, upgraded, secured, and operated EKS clusters end-to-end.
The ideal candidate will have ownership experience across EKS architecture, cluster provisioning, cluster lifecycle management, Kubernetes networking, Kubernetes storage, AWS infrastructure, Terraform automation, and platform operations.
Experience: 7–8+ years preferred
